Just a day after Samsung launched the One UI 8.5 beta program, the first One UI 8.5 firmware has been spotted for Samsung's latest hero mid-ranger, the Galaxy A56. This should make Galaxy A56 owners happy, as it suggests development on the new software for their phones has kicked into a higher gear.
Is this an indication Samsung will add the Galaxy A56 to the One UI 8.5 beta program? Unfortunately, no. There's no way to know for sure if Samsung intends to let A56 users test One UI 8.5 ahead of the general release.
Samsung didn't even offer them the One UI 8 beta for some reason, even though it was made available to the Galaxy A55 and A54, so you should temper your expectations. The best-case scenario is that the stable update arrives quickly, much like One UI 8, which rolled out to the A56 shortly after the flagship devices.
At the time of writing (December 9), the beta program only supports the Galaxy S25 lineup. Samsung has not explicitly confirmed whether more devices will be added, though we expect other flagship models to receive the beta at the very least.
