One UI 8 Watch update for Galaxy Watch 7 goes international

A week after releasing the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 7 in South Korea and the USA, Samsung has released it in other countries. One of the countries getting this new software update is India. Other countries could also be getting it right now.

The Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch update is now available for the Galaxy Watch 7 in most countries worldwide, including those in Europe and Asia. It comes with firmware version L310XXU1BY14 for the Wi-Fi-only variant of the smartwatch. It is a 1.9GB update that includes the September 2025 security patch.

If you have a Galaxy Watch 7, you should check for the update by opening the Galaxy Wearable app and navigating to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install. If the update is available and starts downloading, wait for it to finish the downloading process and then tap the Install now button.

The update brings a brand-new UI design, featuring new app icons, new widgets, new watch faces, and a new battery charging animation. Notifications have a stacked design, and you can clear them using a double pinch gesture. You can now add multiple widgets to each Tile on the watch.

Samsung has added more capabilities to the double pinch gesture. For example, you can scroll through notifications, control media playback, take pictures, and more. You can also customize what happens when you use the double pinch gesture when the screen displays alarm, calendar, reminder, and watch face. You can also shake your wrist to return from any screen to the watch face.

You can now switch between list and new grid app icon layouts in the app drawer. You can choose which calendars to display on the watch and how notifications appear when you are actively using the phone paired with the smartwatch.
