It's a good day for some Galaxy Watch Ultra users, as Samsung's flagship smartwatch has started getting the stable One UI 8 Watch update in select regions. The new software debuted with the Galaxy Watch 8 series and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), but is now available for last year's Galaxy Watch Ultra.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) has started getting the Wear OS 6-based stable One UI 8 Watch update in the USA. It appears that the update is available on AT&T and T-Mobile's networks, and it could expand to other carriers in a matter of days. It is a big software update that brings new UI design, multi-widget Tiles, four new health features, improved UI fluidity, and a lot more.
As you can see in the screenshot above, the stable One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch Ultra comes with firmware version L705USQU1BYFE and has a download size of around 1.95GB. It includes the May 2025 securith patch. It isn't clear when the update will be released in other countries and regions.
If you own a Galaxy Watch Ultra and live in the USA, be sure to check for the new update on your device. To do that, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and navigate to Watch settings » Watch software update and tap Download and install. Once the downloading process is finished, tap the Install now button to start the software installation process, which could take a few minutes and involve a reboot.
The South Korean firm has already released a few beta versions of One UI 8 Watch for the Galaxy Watch 7, so it could soon get the Wear OS 6-based update.
