Samsung Electronics hosted the annual Tech Forum 2022: Discover eXperience event in San Francisco and Boston in the US to secure “outstanding talent in the next-generation IT technology field.” This annual event was hosted on September 22nd in San Francisco and at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston on the 24th of September.

Since 2017, Samsung has held this Tech Forum event to communicate with local IT talent in the United States and provide them with insights into Samsung's work culture and how they can contribute to and be a part of a world-leading company. However, due to COVID, this tech event was halted in 2020 and 2021.

According to the official newsroom post, this year's Tech Forum was attended by over 200 PhDs from major North American universities, such as MIT, Stanford, California Institute of Technology, and UC Berkeley. Talented minds from various fields, including AI, robotics, big data, and display, participated in the event. The forum also saw attendance by Hyun-Jun Seung, President of Samsung Research Research Center, Won-Il Roh, Vice President of Samsung Research America Research Center, and Ki-Hong Na, Vice President of Human Resources Team.

The event was attended by hundreds of US talents from various IT fields

To further enlighten the attendees, a Q&A session and in-depth discussions were held separately by Samsung Electronics executives in four fields, i.e., AI, robot, big data, and display. There was a Career Vision session as well, in which Vice President Na Gi-hong, who also oversees the HR department of Samsung Electronics' DX division, shared the various paths of growth within the company, the organization culture, and various other aspects of R&D.

One of the participants of the forum said that “Through today's event, I was able to increase my understanding of Samsung Electronics' R&D strategy and direction, as well as the organizational culture and personnel system that support it.”
