Samsung launches 2025 Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs in the US

Introduction

The QN80F is one of Samsung's Neo QLED 4K TVs launched in early 2025. The TV sits one step below the company's flagship 4K TV, the QN90F. It has a VA panel with Mini-LED backlight and a higher brightness than its predecessor. It also brings AI-powered features, faster performance, and many features for an enhanced movie-watching and gaming experience.

The TV succeeds the QN80D that was launched in early 2024. It is available in the following sizes:

  • 55-inch
  • 65-inch
  • 75-inch
  • 85-inch

Display

The QN80F is a 4K TV with a VA panel and Mini-LED backlight, up to a 165Hz refresh rate, and HDR. It has AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, HDR10, HDR10+ (Adaptive and Gaming), and HLG certifications. It also features auto low-latency mode (ALLM), HGiG, and variable refresh rate (VRR) to offer an enhanced gaming experience.

The TV has Color Booster Pro, Expert Calibration, EyeComfort Mode, Filmmaker Mode, Real Depth Enhancer, and Smart Calibration.

Audio

Samsung has equipped the QN80F with 4-channel speakers with 30W audio output. It supports Dolby Atmos when connected to compatible soundbars and speakers. It also supports Wireless Dolby Atmos when connected wirelessly with compatible Samsung soundbars and speakers.

Other audio features include Active Voice Amplifier Pro, Adaptive Sound Pro, and Object Tracking Sound Lite. When connected via Bluetooth, you can listen to the TV's audio on your wireless earbuds. Compatible Galaxy Buds also support 360 Audio for spatial sound when connected to this TV.

Connectivity, Design, Ports

The QN80F has Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5, AirPlay 2, DLNA, Smart View, Tap Sound, and Tap View. It also features four HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC) and HDMI-CEC, two USB Type-A ports, one Ethernet port, one optical audio output port, and one RF port. It also has built-in SmartThings Hub.

Software

The NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor inside the TV has a 40% faster CPU and 2x faster GPU than the processor used in the QN80D. It powers AI-powered content upscaling to 4K resolution, Auto HDR Remastering, and Color Booster Pro.

The TV runs Tizen OS 9.0 with the One UI interface. It has Art Mode, Daily+, and DailyBoard. It has Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant, Samsung Health, and SmartThings. The TV has several gaming features like GameBar, MiniMap Zoom, Samsung Gaming, and Super Ultra Wide Game View.
