Last month, Oppo launched a new book-style foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N5. People who have gotten their hands on it, have been praising the device’s foldable display saying that the crease on it is almost invisible. As it turns out, the Chinese brand has sourced this beautiful screen from none other than Samsung Display.
On X, a popular content creator, Ben Gaskin, made a post about Oppo Find N5’s foldable display. On his post, the Vice President at Counterpoint Research and founder of DisplaySearch and DSCC, Ross Young, commented “Samsung Display and UTG…” suggesting that the screen is made by Samsung and it uses Ultra-Thin Glass.
Samsung’s latest book-style foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, bring massive improvements to the crease visibility compared to the previous models. A recent leak about Samsung’s next device in the lineup, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, claims that the crease on its display will be even less visible.
Speaking of Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is also going to launch a dual-hinged tri-fold smartphone soon. Yesterday, we learned that its codename is Q7M. Reportedly, the South Korean tech giant will launch it later this year rather than debuting it alongside the Fold 7 and the Flip 7 at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July this year.
