    Galaxy S25 and S25+ getting big Wi-Fi upgrade

    The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra recently passed through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US, revealing the features they will offer on the connectivity front. Notably, the FCC listing reveals that all three Galaxy S25 models will support Wi-Fi 7 (Wi-Fi 802.11be).

    All 2025 Galaxy flagships will likely support Wi-Fi 7

    Wi-Fi 7 was introduced to Samsung's smartphone lineup with the Galaxy S24 Ultra at the beginning of the year, but the Korean giant stuck with Wi-Fi 6E on the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 FE because the Exynos 2400/2400e chip powering them doesn't support Wi-Fi 7.

    The only other Galaxy devices with Wi-Fi 7 connectivity this year are the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 don't support Wi-Fi 7 despite featuring the same Snapdragon chip as the Galaxy S24 Ultra worldwide, for reasons Samsung hasn't revealed.

    With the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ getting Wi-Fi 7, we assume it will be a standard feature on all flagship Galaxy smartphones in 2025. However, Ultra-wideband (UWB) support is limited to the S25+ and S25 Ultra according to the FCC documents, so there will still be some disparity in connectivity features.
