Samsung's Galaxy AI provides a blend of on-device and cloud-based artificial intelligence functionality. It has teamed up with Google on some of the cloud-based features, and Circle to Search is one of them. This feature makes it very easy for users to search for anything they seen on their device's screen.
Circle to Search is a Galaxy AI feature that's powered by Google. It enables users to circle or highlight any text or image on the display to run a Google search on it without leaving the app they're using. This makes it super easy to identify items on any webpage, photo, or video that users are viewing on the device.
If that functionality sounds familiar, that's because Circle to Search essentially replaces Google Assistant that could previously be used to look up things on the display. Circle to Search does bring some refinement to this functionality and has some extra tricks up its sleeve as well. From example, Circle to Search can also instantly translate on-screen text.
The Circle to Search feature is enabled by default on all Galaxy AI compatible devices. Simply long press the home button and draw a circle on the desired object or text to have Google search it. For those who'd rather prefer to disable the long press gesture for this feature, here's what needs to be done:
All Samsung phones that have Galaxy AI support Circle to Search.
