Prospective Samsung customers in Canada now have one extra reason to use a Samsung Account when they purchase new products. The Korean tech giant announced it is bringing the Samsung Rewards program to Canada, allowing customers to earn points and exclusive benefits.

Samsung Rewards is a loyalty program that lets customers accumulate points whenever they purchase qualifying products through the Samsung online shop or the Shop Samsung mobile app.

    How the Rewards program works

Samsung says Rewards is “a new program designed to give Canadians more control over their shopping experience while rewarding them for their loyalty.”

To start benefitting from the Rewards program, Samsung customers in Canada need to create a free Samsung Account — assuming they don't have one already — and enroll on the official website by accessing “My Samsung,” followed by “Rewards” and “Enroll.”

Once this first step is done, customers can start earning when buying qualifying products online or via the official Shop app. Each $1 spent on a qualifying product earns customers one Samsung Rewards point.

These points can later be redeemed for discounts on other Samsung devices at checkout. In addition to earning points, Samsung Rewards customers can also enjoy exclusive product offers.

The Galaxy experience can be messy for first-time users

Some say it's always better to have more options, but it's never as clear-cut as it sounds. This design philosophy doesn't always work, and more importantly, it isn't a magical shortcut that can patch everything up and always lead to a better user experience. On the contrary, if not handled properly, I believe the “more […]
