If there's one thing we miss about the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, the only Pro smartwatch model Samsung has launched since it started making smartwatches, it's the awesome battery life.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro features the biggest battery of any Galaxy smartwatch and is the only Wear OS-powered smartwatch from Samsung to offer the kind of battery life that we took for granted when Galaxy smartwatches ran on the company's in-house Tizen OS.

And this year, Samsung is bringing that huge battery back with the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup. The Galaxy Watch 7 Pro model will have a battery capacity similar to that of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, as discovered by our friends over at GalaxyClub.

In case you missed it, Samsung will be launching three Galaxy Watch 7 models later this year. While there is no official confirmation yet that one of the three models will be a Pro version similar to the Watch 5 Pro, battery capacity revealed for one of the three Galaxy Watch 7 models by a South Korean certification authority suggests that to be the case.

Talking about numbers, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro had a rated battery capacity of 573 mAh and a typical (marketed) capacity of 590 mAh. The battery that should belong to the top-end Galaxy Watch 7 variant has a rated capacity of 578 mAh, so the marketed capacity may even be slightly larger than that of the Watch 5 Pro.

Samsung is even working on a square smartwatch, but it remains to be seen if that watch will be among the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup or a separate product. We also don't know the battery capacities for the other two Galaxy Watch 7 models, though we wouldn't hold out hope for any major upgrade in that area compared to previous non-Pro Galaxy smartwatches.
