Samsung unveiled its new range of premium TVs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. 2024 is the year of AI-powered TVs and Samsung has joined its rival LG in equipping its high-end TVs with new AI technology.

It appears that these new products are seeing considerable demand from customers. Samsung has confirmed today that pre-orders for its new AI-powered TVs have tripled compared to pre-orders for last year's flagship TV lineup.

Samsung's premium AI TVs are in high demand

Samsung has confirmed that there's strong demand for its new TVs, particularly the ultra-large models. The range is available in 65-inch to 98-inch sizes. The number of pre-orders for the latest models in the two weeks starting March 1 has tripled compared to the pre-orders for last year's models over a similar period.

The company hasn't revealed the actual volumes so it's difficult to ascertain precisely how many units customers have pre-ordered. It did highlight that “Preorders for ultra-large models, which are larger than 85 inches, nearly quadrupled compared to last year.”

Samsung says that the AI functionality is a big draw for customers. Samsung's new AI chip is twice as fast as last year's model. It provides amazing functionality, including the ability to upscale low-resolution into 8K ultra-high-resolution content, through enhancing the empty pixels of low-quality images with accurate colors and contrasts.

The company has also added new features for sports fans. AI Motion Enhancer Pro utilizes artificial intelligence to detect the type of sport being viewed, tracks the ball, and then uses deep learning to reduce ball distortion, significantly improving the viewing experience.
