In theory, Samsung's new Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ flagships start at $799 and $999, respectively. In practice, you can pre-order the Galaxy S24 or S24+ and save some cash on a free storage upgrade. Furthermore, if you exchange an older Galaxy S for the 2024 model, you can get a hefty discount.

Samsung has launched enhanced trade-in deals for Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ buyers. If you own an older S model, here's what you can get for it if you trade it in upon buying the standard Galaxy S24:

    • Save $100 when you trade-in the Galaxy S8 / S8+ / S8 Active for the Galaxy S24.
    • Save $200 when you trade-in Galaxy S models as old as the Galaxy S7 and as new as the Galaxy S21 Ultra (except the S8 series).
    • Save $450 when you trade-in the Galaxy S22 / S22+ / S22 Ultra for the S24.
    • Save $550 when you trade-in the Galaxy S23 / S23+ / S23 Ultra for the S24.

If you're looking to buy the Galaxy S24+ instead of the base model, these are Samsung's enhanced trade-in values for the same older S-series phones:

    • $100 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in: Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S8-series phones.
    • $200 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in: Galaxy S9, S9+, S10, S10+, S10e, S10 Lite, S20 FE, S21 FE, S20, S20+.
    • $400 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in: Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+.
    • $450 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in the Galaxy S22.
    • $550 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in: Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S23.
    • $650 off GalaxyS24+ when you trade-in: Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy S23+
    • $750 off Galaxy S24+ when you trade-in Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 series has something no other phone has

Even though the Galaxy S24 and S24+ might not look all that different from the Galaxy S23 and S23+, the new models have a lot to offer to existing Galaxy S users wanting to upgrade to newer hardware and software.

The Galaxy S24 series is Samsung's first to introduce new and powerful AI tools for live translate, transcribe, and summarize, Chat Assist, Notes Assist, custom wallpapers, and photo-video editing.

The new phones also boast massively brighter screens that top out at 2,600 nits (up from 1,750) and improved performance thanks to newer chipsets and bigger vapor chambers.

If you were considering trading-in an older Galaxy S flagship for a newer model, 2024 might be the time to do it, as the Galaxy S24 and S24+ seem to bring enough new features to the table to warrant an upgrade regardless of whether you use a newer S model or an old one that's no longer supported.

Speaking of long-term support, the Galaxy S24 series is Samsung's first to guarantee seven OS upgrades and seven years of security patches.

Hit the button below if you want to pre-order the Galaxy S24 or S24+, take advantage of enhanced trade-in offers, and grab a free storage upgrade on the house.
