Galaxy S24+ to come with Snapdragon chip in most countries?

A rumor from just a few hours back claimed that Samsung will launch the Snapdragon Galaxy S24+ in India instead of the Exynos model, but could that be the case for other countries as well? That's certainly what a new rumor is telling us: Samsung has reportedly decided to launch the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S24+ in most countries.

It has been known for some time that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 globally. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected to use the Exynos 2400 in most markets, especially since there is no sign of a Snapdragon variant of either device for any country except the US, but these rumors suggest that only buyers of the smallest Galaxy S24 model will have to make do with Samsung's in-house chipset.

If there's even a grain of truth in these rumors, it's a cause for celebration, as Samsung fans have been dreading the return of Exynos after a year of Snapdragon-only Galaxy flagships. It will certainly be disappointing if the base Galaxy S24 is the only one to use the Exynos 2400, as it's the model that would benefit the most from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but we'll take the wins wherever we can get them.

Of course, all that is based on the assumption that we're not being taken for a ride by the folks on Twitter who have leaked this information. One of them does have a good track record of not messing around for likes and retweets reposts, so we guess we will be keeping an open mind and our fingers crossed until something concrete turns up.

Author's Note: We realize that the Exynos 2400 has not been tested in the real world yet and it's unfair to be judging it prematurely, but let's not forget that Samsung has failed numerous attempts at bringing the quality of Exynos chips up to the same level as Qualcomm's Snapdragon SoCs over the past 4-5 years. We are hoping the Exynos 2400 will be amazing, but it's better to keep expectations low so we can avoid massive disappointment if Samsung has screwed the pooch once more.
