In September this year, Google announced that it will shut down Google Podcasts in April 2024 and that YouTube Music will be the company’s only platform from where people will be able to listen to podcasts. So, it means that people using Google Podcasts have to shift to YouTube Music or any other podcast service. To make that process easier, the company announced that it would release a tool for people to transfer their podcast subscription from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music. That’s finally happening today.

Google has launched a tool for people to move their podcast subscriptions from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music or any other podcast app. Currently, the migration tool is available only in the US. Considering that Google Podcasts will be shut down in the next few months, expect the company to release the migration tool in other regions soon.

To move your podcast subscriptions from Google Podcasts to YouTube Music, open the Google Podcasts app on your Android or iOS device, click on the Export subscriptions option at the top of the screen, under the Export to YouTube Music section, select Transfer, and then click on Continue. Voila, you’ve completed the process. Now you should be able to see your podcast subscriptions in the YouTube Music library. You can check more details about the migration process on Google’s support page.

The Galaxy experience can be messy for first-time users

Some say it's always better to have more options, but it's never as clear-cut as it sounds. This design philosophy doesn't always work, and more importantly, it isn't a magical shortcut that can patch everything up and always lead to a better user experience. On the contrary, if not handled properly, I believe the “more […]
