Earlier this month, CEO of Microsoft Gaming and Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer revealed that Starfield has over 12 million players. While it is a big number for a game that came out only three months ago, the news wasn’t shocking because Starfield is one of the most-awaited titles of all time. Bethesda, however, hadn’t commented on the matter. That’s changing today. The developer has released some interesting statistics about the game, including the player count, and future plans for Starfield, including expansions and mods.
In a press release about bidding this year goodbye and rounding up the company’s achievements in 2023, Bethesda has announced that Starfield has 13 million players around the globe, up by one million under a month. According to the developer, the average playtime per player in Starfield stands at 40 hours, which is quite impressive.
As for the future plans, Bethesda has announced that it is working hard on developing the first expansion pack for Starfield, which is called Shattered Space. However, the developer hasn’t provided any information on when it would arrive. Lastly, Bethesda has revealed that it will be bringing official mod support to Starfield with Creation Kit. Once again, the developer hasn’t revealed a release date for this feature.
