While the Galaxy A52s, Galaxy A53, and Galaxy A54 have received the Android 14 update, the Galaxy A52 will not. However, Samsung hasn't forgotten its mid-range phone. The Galaxy A52 is now getting the December 2023 security update in several countries across Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.

Galaxy A52 gets December 2023 security update in several countries

The Galaxy A52 is now getting the December 2023 security update in Europe, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine with firmware version A525FXXS6DWK2. In all the South American countries, the Galaxy A52 is getting the new security update firmware version A525MUBS6DWK3. The update has also reached North America, but it is currently available only in Canada (with firmware version A526WVLSCEWK6) and Mexico (with firmware version A525MUBS6DWK3).

The new update doesn't bring anything other than the December 2023 security patch. It fixes around 75 security flaws found in the previous software version. Don't expect to see any new features or performance improvements.

If you have a Galaxy A52 in any of the countries or regions mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy A52 will likely not get the Android 14 update. If you want to experience Android 14 (One UI 6.0), you should think about upgrading to the Galaxy A54 or the Galaxy S23 FE. You can watch our Galaxy S23 FE review in the video below.
