New Samsung Notes update seemingly adds Android 14 support

Samsung is busy developing Android 14 and One UI 6 for a mountain of eligible Galaxy smartphones and tablets, and the company is also working on updating its apps with proper support for the new version of the operating system.

Most Samsung apps work just fine on their own on newer versions of Android and One UI, so adding official support is sometimes more of a courtesy than a requirement. And that seems to be the case for Samsung Notes, the amazing note-taking and drawing app that comes preloaded on all Galaxy smartphones and tablets.

Samsung Notes is getting a new update with a changelog that says it fixes bugs and adds support for Android U OS, which is Android 14 (Google doesn't publicly use dessert names for Android versions anymore, but Samsung still uses lettered codenames like Android U in its changelogs). However, the update doesn't seem to be available for everyone right now, nor does it have the same changelog.

That could change in a couple of days as these updates are rolled out in phases, but if not, don't worry as Samsung Notes works pretty well on Android 14 already. If it does have some issues, those will be ironed out by the time Android 14 and One UI 6 become widely available for Galaxy devices (only the Galaxy S23 series has received the official One UI 6 update as of November 14).

You can download the latest Samsung Notes update (version 4.4.12.26) from the Galaxy Store. Samsung Notes is also available on the Play Store, although updates for Samsung apps take longer to arrive on Google's app store.
