Galaxy M44 5G with Snapdragon 888 chip is official in Korea

This chip was hinted at in an old Galaxy M44 Geekbench entry. However, it was difficult to take the benchmark at face value due to fake entries in the past, many of which suggested that the Snapdragon 888 SoC was coming to various other mid-range phones. Needless to say, all of those past benchmark entries were proven incorrect.

This time, unless Samsung hasn't made a huge error on its website, the Galaxy M44 is indeed powered by the Snapdragon 888 chip from Samsung, which is a really unexpected turn of events for the entire Galaxy mid-range market space.

To be precise, the Galaxy M44 is listed on Samsung's online shop in Korea as the Galaxy Jump 3 for business owners. And it is important to note that there's no mention of the Snapdragon 888 brand. However, the octa-core configuration featuring 2.84GHz, 2.4GHz, and 1.8GHz CPU cores perfectly matches Qualcomm's specifications.

Other Galaxy M44 specs listed online include 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage expandable via microSD, an FHD+ PLS LCD with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy M44 also features a 50MP primary camera and two extra 2MP shooters, which is an odd combination of a seemingly powerful main sensor and low-cost telephoto and ultra-wide units.

Samsung's surprising new mid-range phone measures 167.7 x 78.0 x 9.1mm and weighs 216 grams. The Galaxy M44 5G looks similar to the Galaxy A34 5G from pretty much every angle. They share the same design language characterized by individual circular camera cutouts and flat back and front panels.

Pricing details are missing, and there's no “Buy” button on the Galaxy M44 page yet. But the official product page for business owners is live in Korea, and the device might go on sale in other markets soon. Will the Galaxy M44 rock the Snapdragon 888 chip everywhere? We'll have to wait and see.
