Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen certification is as boring as expected

When Samsung announced it would be discontinuing the Galaxy Note lineup, Note fans were understandably upset. However, Samsung only killed the brand name. The Galaxy Note still technically exists, only it's been part of Samsung's Galaxy S flagship lineup since 2022.

With the Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung officially added proper S Pen support to the Galaxy S lineup. The Galaxy S21 Ultra supported the S Pen as well, but it didn't have a built-in slot for the stylus. The Galaxy S22 Ultra does, on the other hand, and so does this year's Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Next year, the S23 Ultra will be superseded by the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and customers will get the full S Pen experience if they purchase the costliest Galaxy S24 model. Will the Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen bring any new features or see any changes in its design? That remains to be seen; for now, the only thing that we know will change for sure is the S Pen's model number.

Galaxy S24 Ultra S Pen will support Bluetooth connectivity

The Galaxy S24 Ultra's S Pen has been certified by Brazilian regulatory body Anatel with the model number EJ-PS928, which matches that of the phone itself (SM-S928). The certification makes it clear this is a stylus we're talking about, and it also confirms the S Pen will feature Bluetooth connectivity.

Of course, it's not like we needed that confirmation, as it's highly unlikely Samsung would strip away existing features. And when it comes to new features, those will be added through software and will likely come to existing Galaxy S Ultra handsets once the Galaxy S24 series goes on sale.

Samsung is expected to hold the Galaxy S24 Unpacked launch sometime in January, which is where the company will talk about all the new features that customers will get with its new flagship. However, we will probably learn about most of those features well in advance thanks to all the rumors and leaks that are bound to make their way online ahead of the phones' official announcement.
