Samsung has conventionally used its in-house Exynos chips in Galaxy S series phones globally but equipped them with Snapdragon chips in some countries, like Canada, China, and the US. Next year, though, the company's dual-chip play is getting even more confusing, with Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ rumored to be getting the Exynos treatment in most countries and the Snapdragon in others.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, is expected to use a Snapdragon chip in all the countries worldwide. And a new video from Samsung pretty much confirms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Galaxy S24 Ultra's Zoom Anyplace feature is powered by Qualcomm AI Engine

In a new video published by Samsung, the company's new ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace camera technology has been explained. It works with the company's 200MP ISOCELL cameras, but Samsung has confirmed that the feature is “accelerated by the Qualcomm AI Engine,” and it showcased the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the video.

Since the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses a 200MP sensor but features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Zoom Anyplace technology seems to have been developed for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. And since it needs a Qualcomm chip, it is pretty much confirmed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.

Take a look at Samsung's official video below.

Zoom Anyplace technology works with 200MP ISOCELL camera sensors. It can simultaneously capture the full field of view and zoomed-in areas on video in 4K resolution. Users can select the desired subject in the camera's frame, and the camera will automatically track it, keep it in focus, and film it. Both the full-view angle and the zoomed-in area will be recorded simultaneously in high resolution.

Zoom Anyplace unlocks more creative potential, giving users a way to record two different views using the same camera. Samsung claims that even fast-moving subjects are prevented from going off-screen. This technology also reportedly helps reduce screen shake.

This feature works at 2x and 4x zoom lengths. Thanks to in-sensor zoom, the colors and angle of the video remain similar between the full-view and zoomed-in view. Moreover, the entire zoomed-in portion of the video is remosaiced to offer higher detail than what was possible earlier.

The article continues after our Galaxy S23 Ultra video review.

Samsung's E2E AI Remosaic cuts 200MP image capture time by 50%

    Samsung E2E AAI Remosaic

Samsung is also introducing E2E AI Remosaic for still image capture. In comparison to the current process, in which a 200MP camera captures a RAW image, then it is remosaiced, and then forwarded to the ISP for final image processing. With E2E AI Remosaic, the remosaicing and image processing (in ISP) happen in parallel, reducing delays in capturing high-resolution (50MP or 200MP) shots by half. It means you won't see latency even while capturing 50MP or 200MP shots, which is somewhat visible on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Both these features are expected to arrive with the Galaxy S24 Ultra early next year. While Qualcomm omitted mentioning Samsung in its keynote event for the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 earlier this week, this new video from Samsung showcasing the new Qualcomm chip pretty much confirms that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will use it.
