The 89-inch Micro LED TV from Samsung carries model number MNA89MS1BACXKR. It is a super-premium TV that very few in the world can afford, owing to its astronomical price tag of KRW 130 million (around $101,408).
So, why is it so expensive? Well, Micro LED is a new display technology that offers the best picture quality. It is a self-emissive display technology that offers OLED-like perfect blacks and infinite contrast ratio and LCD-like brightness and longevity. Since there is no separate backlight or a color filter, Micro LED TVs offer the purest blacks and deepest colors. It has OLED-like wide viewing angles, too. Samsung claims that its Micro LED TVs can reach a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits.
Samsung is offering plenty of benefits to those who are ready to shell out that much cash on a TV. The company is offering an 85-inch The Frame TV, the HW-QN990C 11.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar, The Freestyle portable projector package, and 5 million Samsung Electronics membership points with the 89-inch Micro LED TV. The Freestyle projector package comes with the projector, a portable battery pack, a carrying case, and a skin.
Taehwan Hwang, Vice President of Samsung Electronics in South Korea, said, “Starting with the 89-inch model, we will expand the Micro LED lineup to 76, 101, and 114-inch to expand consumers' ultra-premium TV choices and lead the market by maintaining the super-gap in next-generation display technology.” It will take a few years before Micro LED TVs become affordable enough that general consumers can buy them.
