The company revealed its first OLED screens for laptops two years ago, and now, the South Korean firm is expanding into the premium gaming laptop market with its 4K OLED screen, starting with the MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.

Last month, Samsung Display announced that it will invest KRW 4.1 trillion ($3.1 billion) to build an 8.6-Generation IT OLED production line to expand its OLED IT business. These OLED screens would be used in laptops and gaming monitors.

Brad Jung, VP and Head of the Mobile Display Marketing Team at Samsung Display, said, “We are supplying MSI with the industry’s highest resolution laptop OLEDs so that gaming users can experience the best HDR content on OLED. We will continue to focus on expanding our IT business based on the strengths of Samsung OLED, including wide color gamut, true black enabling infinite contrast ratio, low blue light emission, and low power consumption.
