Last week, Samsung released a new software update to the Galaxy S23 in South Korea. It brought the April 2023 security patch to the smartphones, along with various camera bug fixes and improvements. Now, Samsung has started rolling out the same update in Europe, and it could be expanded to other countries soon.
Galaxy S23's camera bug-fixing update is now available in Europe
The latest software update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with firmware version S91xBXXU1AWC8. It has a download size of around 936.02MB, which is fairly big and indicates that various improvements have been implemented. The update includes the April 2023 security patch, which should fix various security flaws found in Samsung's newest flagship phones.
Among the camera improvements that Samsung implemented in this update include autofocus improvements, faster Gallery operations while deleting images that were just clicked, and improved sharpness in videos captured using the ultrawide camera in low-light conditions. The update also fixes the bug that introduced a green line in some images. Samsung has also improved video stabilization in Full HD 60fps and low-light conditions.
The update also fixes image quality issues when the Night Mode is turned off, and the Camera Assistant app is set to the following setting: Shooting Speed » High Resolution » Speed Priority. Some users also reported issues of the camera not recognizing faces just after ending a video call using third-party video calling apps.
Samsung said that it improved color banding issues in 50MP and 200MP modes while also improving the sharpness of images. Samsung also solved intermittent blurring in photos by improving OIS. Samsung has reportedly also improved the shutter lag issue too. To download and install the new update on your Galaxy S23 series device, navigate to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.
