    Samsung explains its improved connected home strategy at CES 2023

    During the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show, CES 2023, Samsung shared its strategies and commitments to create a better-connected world for a sustainable future. Speaking at a press conference, Samsung and its partners highlighted their efforts to bring “calm to the connected device experience.

    The South Korean giant expressed that they are always prioritizing the environment by using sustainable materials on their devices, creating innovative and environmentally friendly designs, and associating with like-minded partners. Samsung is making all these efforts to meet a larger goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. By that time, Samsung also aims to switch to renewable energy to meet its electricity needs.

    Samsung, during its press conference at CES 2023, also highlighted how its products, be it their TVs, smartphones, washing machines, or other home appliances, use recycled materials and contribute to energy savings, thanks to SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Modes. In fact, Samsung’s connected home experience with SmartThings is the first mass-market Smart Home Energy Management System to earn the prestigious ENERGY STAR SHEMS Certification.

    Samsung also detailed how it is working with partners to increase interoperability. This will allow users to connect devices, be it from Samsung or other brands. It gave an example of how users can pair up Samsung TVs with Philips Hue lighting via the Philips Hue Sync TV app and sync lightning with the TV content without additional hardware.

    For the future, Samsung displayed its next-gen innovative products built using the latest AI tech, such as Spatial AI, which is available in the JetBot AI+. to provide a better in-house experience. The company also showcased the preview of “Relumino Mode.” This mode will feature in select 2023 Samsung Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs this year making content viewing possible for those who are visually impaired.
