Last year, Vivo had launched two high-end smartphones—Vivo X60 and Vivo X60 Pro—with Samsung's Exynos 1080 processor. Those phones were limited to the Chinese market, though, and their international versions used the Snapdragon 870 processor. Now, the company seems to be launching another phone with an Exynos chipset.

Vivo has started teasing the Vivo X70 and the Vivo X70 Pro in China. It has been revealed through TENAA certification that the X70 Pro uses the Exynos 1080 processor. This 5nm chipset features an octa-core CPU with one Cortex-A78 CPU core clocked at 2.8GHz, three Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and four Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz. It has the Mali-G78 MP10 GPU, a built-in 5G modem (with mmWave and sub-6GHz connectivity), GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, LPDDR5 RAM support, and UFS 3.1 storage support. It also supports up to 200MP cameras and up to 4K 60fps video recording.

The Vivo X70 Pro is the successor to the Vivo X60 Pro, and it is expected to feature a 6.56-inch Super AMOLED E5 display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 32MP selfie camera and a quad-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP telephoto camera with a 5x optical zoom.

It comes in two RAM variants: 8GB and 12GB. It will most probably be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants. The phone will feature an in-display fingerprint reader, a 4,500mAh battery, and 44W fast charging. The phone will be launched on September 9.

Samsung‘s market share in the global chipset market has been dropping over the past year. The latest numbers show that the company's market share dropped from 13% in Q2 2020 to 7% in Q2 2021. Only time will tell whether Samsung's new partnership with AMD will improve its numbers in the future.
