The Samsung Smart Monitor was launched in November last year. It's unlike any monitor the company has launched before. Powered by Tizen, the Smart Monitor can double up as a TV. There are two models in the lineup, the Smart Monitor M5 and Smart Monitor M7.

Samsung made them both available initially in Canada, China and the United States. The M7 has a 32-inch display with 4K resolution. The M5 has a Full HD 27-inch panel. It has today announced the global availability of the Smart Monitor and a couple of new sizes.

Both of these monitors have a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 178-degree viewing angle, 250 nits peak brightness and HDR10 video playback capability. 10W stereo speakers are also integrated.

Powered by Tizen 5.5, the Smart Monitor can run apps like Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, YouTube and more. It offers AirPlay 2, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, HDMI 2.0 ports and even a USB Type-C port on the M7.

A larger 43-inch model of the Smart Monitor M7 is now available. The M5 gets new 24-inch model that's also offered in a new white color option. The Smart Monitor come with a solar cell-powered remote control.

The company has also bought over Samsung TV Plus to these monitors. It's Samsung ad-supported free TV streaming service that provides access to hundreds of live channels and on-demand content. The Universal Guide feature will provide content recommendations based on user preferences on apps like Netflix and Prime Video.

Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa will now be available on the monitors as well alongside Bixby. Next month, the Remote Access feature will be updated to “PC on Screen” to allow for simple connectivity between the monitor and external PCs.
