    Samsung’s ‘Made in India’ aluminium Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G launched

    Samsung has made a significant investment in setting up production facilities for its mobile devices in India. The company has now started manufacturing its entire catalog of 18 smartwatches in the country as well. This includes certain configurations of the Galaxy Watch 4G.

    It announced the launch of the aluminium Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G in India today. This is the first smartwatch that Samsung has manufactured at its facilities in the country. From now on, at least the smartwatches that are to be sold in India will be manufactured there.

    Samsung smartwatches will now be Made in India

    The Galaxy Watch Active 2 4G has previously been available in India. It was actually launched in the country seven months ago. It has an eSIM with carriers like Airtel and Jio supporting it. The LTE variant is only available in 44mm and is offered in Cloud Silver, Aqua Black and Pink Gold colors.

    Customers in India will be able to pick up the smartwatch in its aluminium finish starting July 11. It will be available across Samsung's retail network, the Samsung Opera House, Samsung.com and other online retailers for Rs. 28, 490 (~$380).

    Samsung may not find that many takers for the smartwatch at this point in time, though. Those who follow tech news will already know that there's a new Samsung smartwatch coming out soon. The Galaxy Watch 3 is due to be unveiled this month and it brings back the physical rotating bezel. It's also going to be available in a new titanium finish which will be pretty cool.
