Cocktail Orange Galaxy M40 to launch exclusively on Amazon Prime Day

The Galaxy M40 will be available in the Cocktail Orange color option for a short period of time during Amazon Prime Day. The color is not entirely new as it has been an option for the Galaxy A60, but in the case of the Galaxy M40, the flavor will be available only for a limited time on July 15.

As of now, it looks like the Cocktail Orange Galaxy M40 will only be launched on Amazon Prime Day (July 15th-16th) in India, although the device isn't available in a lot of markets in the first place. As a Prime Day exclusive, it will be available only to Amazon Prime members, so if you’re not one of them then you’re out of luck. Or are you?

An exclusive color still doesn’t make it a better proposition than the Galaxy A50

The Cocktail Orange Galaxy M40 comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and will launch for Rs. 19,990 ($291). On the other hand, the Galaxy A50 with the same amount of RAM and half the storage size costs Rs. 21,490 ($313) at the time of this writing, while the 4GB model costs less than the M40 – by Rs. 1,500 ($21).

Much like we’ve detailed in our Galaxy M40 review, we still think that it’s probably better to skip this model and go for the Galaxy A50 instead. Granted, the Galaxy M40 comes with a slightly better chipset and more storage, but it has other shortcomings which simply shine a brighter light on the Galaxy A50 in comparison. To start with, the latter has a larger battery and is equipped with a Super AMOLED display instead of an LCD. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is probably an in-demand feature for a budget device, more so than a flagship.

All in all, the Cocktail Orange Galaxy M40 is a bit of an exclusive since it’s apparently going to be available only during Amazon Prime Day in India. You could argue that some value will be added to the device due to it being quite a rarity, and you wouldn't be wrong. But if none of this interests you then the Galaxy A50 remains the better choice.
