Samsung brings the upper-mid-range Galaxy A70 to India
Samsung is expanding the Galaxy A lineup in India by launching the recently-announced Galaxy A70 in the country. This is the fifth device in the Galaxy A 2019 lineup that the company has released in the subcontinent. So far, it has launched the Galaxy A10, A20, A30, and A50 in the country. Until the Galaxy A80 comes to India, which is set to happen next month, the A70 will be the most premium Galaxy A 2019 device in the company’s lineup.
The Galaxy A70 comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ (1080X2400) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display, Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset, 6 GB RAM, 128 GB internal storage, microSD slot, 32 MP selfie camera, triple-camera system on the back, Samsung Pay, a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging, USB Type-C port, in-display fingerprint reader, and Android Pie with One UI on top.
Complete Samsung Pay experience at a manageable price point
As evident from the specs, the large battery, 25W charging (same as the Galaxy S10 5G), high-resolution cameras, and Samsung Pay are the main attractions of the Galaxy A70. Most of the recent non-flagship Galaxy devices in India come with Samsung Pay Mini, which does not support credit and debit cards. This makes the A70 an appealing option for those who want the complete Samsung Pay experience at a manageable price point.
Unfortunately, in terms of design and build quality, the Galaxy A70 is nothing special. It looks similar to other recent Galaxy A models and features the same glossy-plastic build. It will be available in white, blue, and black in a single 6GB/128GB storage configuration for INR 28,990 (~$418). It will be available for purchase from Samsung’s offline and online partners starting May 1. Interested buyers can also pre-book the device between April 20 and April 30. Pre-orders come with an offer to buy Samsung U Flex Bluetooth earphones worth INR 3,799 for INR 999.
