Verizon Galaxy S8, Note 8, and Note 9 getting October security update

North American carrier Verizon is updating a number of Samsung flagships with the October 2018 security patch. The Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy Note 9, and Galaxy Tab S3 are all receiving updates on Verizon at the moment. None of the updates offer anything but the newer security patch.

October 2018 security update for Samsung flagships on Verizon released

The build numbers for the S8, S8+, Note 8, Note 9, and Tab S3 are R16NW.G950USQU5CRIB, R16NW.G955USQU5CRIB, R16NW.N950USQS5CRID, M1AJQ.N960USQU1ARJ5, and R16NW.T827VVRS2BRJ1. All of these should be available for download over the air on your device. Just go into the Settings app, tap the Software update option, then hit the Download updates manually option. The latest firmware for these devices are also available in our firmware section.
