Why are you not buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 9?

The Galaxy Note 9 went official last week, and it was nice to see that the rumors and leaks had been correct. The Galaxy Note 9 brings a number of new features and upgrades. A big battery, lots of storage, a Bluetooth S Pen, stereo speakers, and AI camera features are some of the highlights; there’s even a headphone jack unlike much of the competition. The best part? Samsung hasn’t raised the price for the base model compared to the Galaxy Note 8, making it an excellent deal for everything the phone offers.

Galaxy Note 9: Why are you skipping Samsung’s latest flagship?

But while many of you have probably been waiting for the day the phone will go on sale (and most likely pre-ordered already), some of you probably aren’t impressed and don’t think you should waste money on Samsung’s latest flagship. And our question is: Why? We know it might be too early to ask this, especially with the phone’s reviews still a few days away, but why are you not buying the Galaxy Note 9? Is it because it’s not enough of an upgrade or because the price is too high? Is it because you already have a device like the Galaxy S8 or a flagship released in the last two years? Or is it a combination of many or all of those factors, or something else?

We would love to know your opinion, so go ahead and tell us your reasons for not wanting to buy the Galaxy Note 9 down in the comments.

If Samsung really is planning to merge the Note with the S-series – which is more or less the case already in all but name – hopefully that will free up SKU allocation to have a flat screen version alongside the curved one, as was the case when the curved thing started. That would eliminate one of my reasons not to buy. Reintroduce the IR blaster, reenable the FM radio by default, keep the audio jack and SD card, and I will be more than tempted. I guess I will just have to tolerate the inaccessible battery!

Not buying the Note 9 because buying a $1300 (CAD) phone every single year is idiotic waste of money and pointless. I’m happy with my Note 8 and will wait for the Note 10 but likely the Note 11.

The amount of people harping on about the curved display still! the curve is negligible!! its simply there to minimize the size of the side bezels while keeping the screen elevated from constant accidental touches – and it look great! never had a problem with gaming, videos, or viewing pictures since the S6 edge+
You’re literally complaining about nothing. you either need to stop looking at the edge of your screen from 2cm away or find something else to complain about because the A8s are there if you want it.

guy is switching to note 9 from the s8 a good idea?

eyaad2008

off course no
S8 or S9 users like small size
finger print scanner still in back not on main front screen ?

Curved display is just not useful in daily scenario. It just some cosmetic appeal. They should come with flat and curved display as it’s quite hard to find a decent case and screen protector for the curved display. Removable battery is a must as I could easily swap it with new one when running low or when the battery needed to be replaced. Now I will have to go to the service center to replace the battery and that too is filled with unprofessional technicians in the middle east.

And if that happen’s forget about any more quicker updates as they would have to code both do them

Upgrade from Note 8 is negligible. Same design, some additional S Pen features and as per initial Battery tests, battery life is just marginally better than Note 8 .

Leaving aside the question of price…. Compared to my current phone (Note 4) I would like the improved stylus, camera and battery life. But I would really miss the convenience of a proper flat screen for writing on with the improved stylus and for viewing my improved photos! When I write on paper or view printed photos I don’t tend to find that curling the edges down improves the experience. And even with the improved battery, it will need to be replaced eventually. And when I go camping, being able to leave my spare battery charging on solar during the… Read more »

Absence of IR blaster and FM radio is only concern for me. I admit I’m little backdated.

This is S9+ with s pen. I have S9+ and don’t need s pen, so there is no sense to change. Waiting for S10

I’m simply not paying $1000 for a phone lacking these features: A flat wide and tall high res screen; A non-replaceable battery. I don’t care how big the battery is. It I cannot replace it quickly, it’s no good. An FM radio; and An IR Blaster. I’m sick of these skinny/tall phones made for girls hands only. I want some height to the screen when I’m in portrait mode. The screen with curved edges is a gimmick that should be thrown out. On the positive – built in Dex is a great idea. The camera is great also. This idea… Read more »

Well, the only feature worth praising is the DEX, which more or less could have been replaced with HDMI out and BT Keyboard and Mouse on the Note 4 already. They had to sell an additional gimmick, to be on par with Apple’s Dongles. Most likely the internal code name for it is Dongle EXtension, but they were afraid to name it like that, so they can make fun of Apple …

Thanks god there are other people that are not so stupid to fall in the big battery lie

Maybe people are sick of it already? You’ve been promoting it for 12 months with every conceivable update plus more. When it is released there are no features to get excited about. Always big oversell kills sales everytime. It’s a shame. Good product doesn’t deserve to get panned on release but it’s old hat before we see it.

The only thing that hasn’t been spoiled is the bigger amazing heat pipe (water carbon cooling system etc) but anyway it’s useless so it’s not a huge deal 😂

No IR like as latest models after S6
Fingerprint scanner must be on front panel.

My current in-between job pay sucks, I could easily afford upgrades before now not so much. Especially with a $250-500 down payment for preorder +tax on $1000…with excellent credit!? Otherwise it’s higher, I don’t get why it’s so high!? May as well just buy it outright!
I currently have Note 8 so I’m not missing out on much, maybe next Note. If the Galaxy X/10 is badass I’m in.

precio muy alto , y sacan nuevas versiones muy rápido, no dejan que se desarrolle la venta de un modelo por un periodo adecuado
