The November 2017 security patch brings fixes for 61 Android vulnerabilities and six Samsung vulnerabilities. It also patches the KRACK Wi-Fi exploit, which is pretty much the most important part of the update. That's all you can expect from the latest update, and as for Android 8.0 Oreo, it certainly looks like it will be a couple of months before Samsung's officially rolling that out.
To grab the new update, tap the Download updates manually option in the Software update section of the phone's settings. We also have the firmware available for download from our database (Galaxy S8 | Galaxy S8+), which you can use for upgrading if the update isn't available for your device over the air yet.
