Speedo is bringing its Speedo On swimming platform to Samsung's wearable devices. The Speedo On app will be available on Samsung's Gear Sport smartwatch and Gear Fit2 Pro wearable fitness tracker. Both wearable devices have been announced by Samsung today at its IFA 2017 press conference.

The Speed On app is capable of measuring key swim metrics such as lap count, lap time and the type of stroke. It helps users incorporate their swim workouts in their personal fitness goals.

All of the data that's collected by Speedo On is compatible with Samsung's S Health platform. It provides users with a broader picture of their overall health and wellness goals.

The app provides users with an analysis of their swims and tracks their progress against their fitness goals. It also provides training programs, tips and advice tailored to the user. Speedo On adds a social dimension to swimming.

It enables users to follow other swimmers, take part in challenges and share their achievements. The app enables Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear Sport users to complete time trials and get their SWOLF (a measure of swimming efficiency) score.

The Speedo On app is going to be pre-installed on both the new Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro. Samsung's new wearable devices will be released in the near future.
