Leaked image hints at a 3,300 mAh battery for the Galaxy Note 8

Even though Samsung’s next Galaxy Note device is to be unveiled later this month, most aspects about its hardware have already been leaked. Earlier this week, Evan Blass reported detailed hardware specifications of the Galaxy Note 8 on VentureBeat. Now, a leaked image has appeared, showcasing the battery capacity of the phablet.

If we’re to believe a leaked image that appeared on SlashLeaks, the Galaxy Note 8 will feature a relatively smaller battery with a capacity of just 3,300 mAh. This would be much smaller than the 3,600 mAh and 3,500 mAh batteries that were used in the Galaxy S7 edge and the Galaxy Note 7, respectively. Most consumers would be disappointed to see such a small battery for a large-screen phablet.

Since the Galaxy Note 8 is rumoured to sport a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, the phone won’t be much bigger than the Galaxy S8+. Moreover, the S Pen takes up additional space inside the phone’s body when you compare it with the Galaxy S8+. Are you disappointed by the lower battery capacity of the Galaxy Note 8? I’d be disapointed. I am a huge fan of the Note series, and had to “downgrade” to an S7 after the Note 7 fiasco. I really miss the S Pen, and the good battery life of my trusty old Note II. My recommendation to Samsung would be to keep the Note line as a “pro” line with the best possible specs even if it means higher price, and/or a thicker/heavier phone.

Well, if the battery does not last for a whole day, it’s crap. I use quite a lot of spen, email and talk for about three hours per day. Let’s see what the battery can do …

I’ll probably upgrade since I have a Note 4, but they better have some top notch optimization if they’re putting 3300mAh in a phone with 6.3 inch screen. They’ve already pretty much forced us to keep the res at FHD to deal with such a small battery.

makes little difference, I instantly changed mine to QHD+ and I can still get 5hr30min screen on time.

very disappointed…will not buy this one, these days we need a device with at least 4000mah (other like Huawei are offering such battery life in their Mate line with no problem at all) i have got a S8+, with 6,2 inches and 3500mah, battery life is good, but not VERY good, i´m sure you know what i mean, so if Note 8 is 6,3 inches, and battery is 3300mah…i dont think this will resist more than 4 hours SOT and probably wont last one day…Note line WAS my favorite, to compare this with old Note 4 is not a good… Read more »

I think everyone is disappointed by the lower battery capacity. as others have said with 8 point battery test. why settle for a tiny capacity

Still better than Note 4, but it feels somehow uncomfortable, that S8+ has bigger battery.
I would prefer the Note 8 to be wider and share the same battery as S8+.
