after three days. i’m using my 14 period trial, i sent back muy S8+ yesterday, and i won’t pick another one, screen was red, or reddish…( worst of all is when i i realize that an OTA update will NOT solve AT ALL this issue, for me it’s a hardware one…) i have tried everything , there is no software solution ) after all that there are more things, the finger reader position, the new procesor being almost the same, no differences at the rear camera..biometric id doesn’t work as wel as they say …and many things more…i love samsum, but i’m. poor, and i can’t pay 909 € during 24 months for the “in theory” best mobile on the world…my S7edge is working good, and solid fast, Battery life it’s better on the s7Edge too…so, there’s no a point to move to the S8+…maybe design and the (red) screen…im feeling sad, cause i have been waiting too long this S8+, and now there is only deception…¡come on Samsung! what are you doing?

If you look at the S7 specs there isn’t much difference to be considered an actual update beside very few things..
Sure it looks super cool but I had this problem with edge displays since the beginning..
The smartphones are delicate as it gets even without the edges made out of glass. So having something made mostly of glass front and back and to this extent really doesn’t seem very durable. Then there are some things that really matter like the battery or ram etc. which this phone doesn’t deliver something to be called innovative or new.. I don’t know where the companies are going in 2017 but if its the bezel-less phones, I don’t really see a good thing in that.. sure less bezels would be neat or cool but I would really like a phone that is fast, smooth, battery lasts longer, more storage, smart AI, and things like that which are useful in day to day use.. and maybe for the cool quotient they can do something with themes and customization options.. which android is famous for.. and It would be great if the innovation is done in things that really matter and doesn’t make our phone a crystal showpiece.

No stereo, and a better camera was a must have feature, they could do better

I really think they could have done more with the camera and speakers. That fingerprint scanner is really annoying too but I suppose it couldn’t be on the front with that massive display. They must be doing what Apple do with the i->iS formula

Buy a Galaxy J5

No stereo speaker, fps on the back, the same battery like in my S7, even that beze-less design for me isn’t a good solution (looks weird). All I want is:
- bigger battery (one full day without charging when I am using bluetooth, web browser, streaming music from Spotify),
- black matte variant (just like a iPhone 7)
- fps on the front (even with a physical home button)
- stereo speakers
- bixby with polish language support
- design more like a Note 7 or S6 than S7.

The rest of the specs is fine for me.
I won’t buy this phone. Waiting for the Note 8, iPhone 8 and S9.

In the netherlands:
- No Samsung Pay
- No Dutch Bixby support
- Just 3 colours available at launch.
- No Amazon
- Very few Samsung partners for Bixby.

I own a galaxy S7 Edge, and there’s no real convincing reason to upgrade. Sure there are some improvements made, but none that are worth the €900 upgrade. And that is probably the highest premium price in the world. And for that, I want every single feature to work.

I want to buy a nice 12 cylinder Ferrari, pay full price. Receive the car with 6 cylinder locked out. Sorry, red is not available in your country so we give you a purple one. Oh, and the navigation doesn’t work in your country. But we did put in a nice air refresher, dangling from the rear view mirror. And all of that for the full listing price! More or at least the same price as customers that get the same model, the car pick from all colours, get navigation that suits their country, and have all 12 cylinder working like a charm. No, it’s a Ferrari, so why should I feel let down?

I’m still missing the IR blaster, this is the only thing which is holding me to not upgrade currently from my S6. Maybe I’ll wait till Note 8 or look at other non-flagship alternatives.

Hope i can disable bixby and reassign the button to the camera

2 months 25 days ago

Will bixby and the new software features be available to S7?

2 months 25 days ago

Yes, at the S5 (a bit) and on the S6 (Features of the S7)

Samsung should make better camera Dual-camera and 6 giga ram

2 months 25 days ago

Everything is fine apart from that unnecessary fingerprints next to the camera and the battery size especially for the S8, 3000mAh? Really? Minimum 4000mAh the S8 and 4500mAh for the S8 plus or removable battery. I really hope the make it a lot bigger for Note 8.

Samsung focused to much on the devices itself. Instead they should have talked about customer service. 3 years promised Android updates, Bixby for S7 users, Nougat for Note 4 (which is the latest Note device in Europe), S7 trade-in offer to get S8 for half the prize, monthly security patches . Things like this would have been a real step forward and could bring trust of customers back.
But they only talked about their “new era of smartphones” and released a slightly improved, but slightly worse (battery) version of the S7.

Ik heb na december zelfs geen security patches meer gekregen op belgische s7/edge lux

My former Note 4 and present S6 edge+ are both wider than S8+. As long it’s only in length Galaxys are growing I’ll have to wait for Note 8

2 months 25 days ago

The camera and ram and battery should have been improved,
My expectations for Note8 now:
14MP 1/2.3″ F1.6 OIS Camera with DRAM
720p 1000fps slow-mo
8MP 1/3″ F1.6 OIS front-cam

6.4″ 18:9 4K HDR AMOLED
1000nits, 10bit panel
Auto color management

3700mAh battery

AKG Stereo Speaker

2 months 25 days ago

4K HDR SAMOLED is a must on the note 7. Also the AKG Stereo Speaker, which I have expected to come with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. A mono speaker is disappointing on a device, that costs nearly 1000 bucks. Also a dual camera setup would be nice, since the new exynos processor does support it. I am staying with my iPhone 7 plus until the Note 8 comes. And even if it doesn’t fulfill our wishes, I am going to buy it. Just because of the S Pen.
Nevertheless, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are the most beautiful and amazing phones in the market right now.

I prefer large CMOS camera for low light quality instead of cutting half to the dual cam for gimmick.

2 months 25 days ago

I’m happy with the specs, but as a S7 user there are key areas that needs to be focused on for their next years flagship: Speakers (-Dual-Stereo), battery-size (3300-3500mah), Camera (Dual-camera), Finger-scanner (on-screen).

2 months 25 days ago

Battery size, loudspeaker configuration and ultimately the prices commanded for the afore-mentioned compromises… the unholy trinity in my book. Maybe Samsung already knows that via the attempt to offset it with the bundling of that AKG earphones.

I was hoping for a hardware improvement to the main camera & a larger battery. Slightly disappointed but I’ll live.
