Samsung's Canadian subsidiary has announced the launch of the 2017 Solve for Tomorrow Challenge, where schools in the region have a chance to compete for technology grants.

As part of the scheme, the firm will award around 150 finalist educational facilities with funding and resources, while four will receive “grand prize technology grants” valued at $20,000 each.

“In a year where we celebrate Canada’s 150th, we are committed to helping the bright minds of the next 150 reach their full potential through STEM education, benefiting the Canadian communities they call home,” said Mark Childs, chief brand officer for Samsung Canada.

The 2016 Solve for Tomorrow Challenge in Canada attracted participation from 650 schools, so it's safe to say that this year's program is set to be even more popular, with a minimum of 37 entires from four different regions being deemed finalists.
