According to a new report by market research firm IDC, Samsung was the top smartphone vendor in India during Q2 2016 with a market share of 25.1 percent. The local smartphone vendor Micromax managed to grab a market share of 12.9 percent, while the Lenovo Group (which includes Motorola) stood third in the list with a market share of 7.7 percent.
After Samsung's market share fell to just 20 percent two years ago, the company has bounced back by launching best-selling products like the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7 in the affordable smartphone segment. The company also launched dual-SIM variants of all its high-end smartphones since last year due to market demand. On the other hand, sales of iPhones have further reduced due to comical price tags.
