Verizon pushing Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the Galaxy S5

North America’s largest carrier is bringing Marshmallow to Samsung’s 2014 Galaxy S flagship today. Android 6.0.1 is making its way to the Galaxy S5 on Verizon, following the T-Mobile variant which received the major upgrade a week ago. The update carries firmware version G900VVRU2DPD1, with Wi-Fi calling, Ultra High-Quality Audio, new app icons and regular Marshmallow features (Doze, Google Now on Tap, better control over permissions for apps) a part of the package.

You should be seeing the update arrive on your Galaxy S5 sometime over the course of the week. Quite a few lucky folks should be getting Marshmallow today itself; those that can’t wait can try hitting the Check now button in the Settings » About device » Software update menu. Let us know what you think of the latest version of Android once you get it installed on your phone!

I think the middle screenshot is a page out of the S6’s book. It would be nice tho if the Verizon S5 got the new touchwiz found on the S6 and S7.

Hi , I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 already since last month I wait for the update to Android 6, this device is perfect but we must do to benefit from latest addition to this version of Android for its output in 2016 .

Is it me or TouchWiz in the Galaxy S5 Verizon in Marshmallow is with the face of TouchWiz in the Galaxy S7?
Because the screen shown in the screenshot of the middle is not looking like that in the SM-G900M Brazil.
Incidentally, the TouchWiz Galaxy S5 in Marshmallow has not changed in relation to what was already in Lollipop. Only a few screens were with the appearance of the Galaxy S7 and only the icons were the same as they were in the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge + with Lollipop.
