Some quick toggles automatically disappearing from the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge

Many who own the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 edge have taken to social media to voice their displeasure over the disappearance of some quick toggles from their devices. Multiple reports suggest that a large number of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners are missing either one or all of the toggles that trigger mobile data, hotspot and private mode. No one really knows why this is happening, the handsets shipped with these toggles and seeing as how they correspond to some very important functions it wouldn’t make any sense for Samsung to remove them altogether.

There’s no official fix for this just yet though reports claim that Samsung has acknowledged this issue through customer support, some of the company’s regional Twitter accounts have acknowledged it as well. At least one regional account offered a temporary solution which involves backing up important data and performing a factory reset on the device. While it brings back the toggles, it doesn’t reduce the possibility that those toggles simply won’t disappear again, and it will prove to be a nuisance for users if they have to perform a factory reset every single time that this happens.

Some XDA forum members believe that this is happening due to a software feature that’s gone rogue, so to speak, that it’s automatically removing toggles that users haven’t used in over 30 days. That doesn’t seem to be true though since many of the people lamenting the loss of these toggles are the people who heavily rely on them during daily use. Samsung is yet to provide a fix for this issue, or an explanation for that matter, we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more information.

There is a fix to get them back, just install these APK’s. As always this is at your own risk and we are not responsible for any damage on your phone or anything like that whatsoever. It has been tested by us and it is working. For how long we do not know but until Samsung addresses this issue you can use this fix.

Remember when the Nexus 6 had this problem? This is an old stock Lollipop feature Samsung didn’t correct, but Google eventually did fix. I hope they fix it.

Samsung customers service informed me its due to either 2 of its own app updates. My understanding is the tts crap that caused the problem. Samsung has even pulled this app of its galaxy store

It looks like Samsung and/or Google is intentional helping operators to make user difficult to switch to WIFI. Before that when swicthing off the mobile data, it gave you a stupid prompt asking for confirmation. This is already annoying. Now, they make it more difficult to switch off the Mobile Data, so that the app running in the background is consuming mobile data is . Together with removing the Mobile Hotspot, what else can it be? I mean this isn’t a difficult problem to solve, right? Looking at the mass scale affecting every country, the initiative to share the data… Read more »

Well sense I seen this post I went and checked my data log and I’ll be dam it is gone..did a factory hard reset and it’s still not there…5.1.1 did not fix the Ram my fone is still using 80 to 90% of the Ram with just 3 to 4 apps open smh and what’s really disappointing is there was no major upgrades to the camera like was said over the pass weeks….NO RAW NO SHUTTER SPEED CONTROL OR LOWER ISO IDK WAT TO THINK ABOUT SAMSUNG LOVE THE DROID BUT THIS SHITTY AS UPDATES HAS TO STOP!!!!!!

i have to say, i expected more from samsung, but, the only 2 issues with the S6 are the ram and disappearing toggles….the camera is perfect even without RAW support….before you saw that on the G4 no one asked for it…..so for me just fix the ram and disappearing toggles….

neflictus

Well, I sold my Note 4 to get the S6 just because i wanted to get manual shutter speed, RAW support and lower ISO. Seems like Samsung will just pass the S6 and move on to the next best thing.
Seems like LG is doing the right thing. Well, it’s not too late to jump boat.

another weird thing happened is : when i turn on the front cam, and gps tag is on, it automatically closes the camera and goes to easy mode home screen, and then even you tap on camera app it keeps closing the cam…. is the OS team licking nipples all day long doing nothing to fix these problems >_<
