CES 2014 is just around the corner but Samsung didn't want to wait for the event for the release of its newest monitor. The Korean consumer electronics giant has taken wraps of the SE790C, which is an ultra-wide 34-inch curved monitor. It features with a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels with an aspect ratio of 21:9, which allows modes such as Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture. The Picture-by-Picture mode allows users to view content from two devices simultaneously. The curved screen matches the natural curve of a human eye resulting in a 3D-like effect and makes the monitor appear bigger than it actually is. The monitor also features four USB v3.0 ports, dual 7-watt loudspeakers, 178-degree viewing angle, static contrast ration of 3000:1, and 300 cd/m2 brightness. The monitor is built using metallic materials and is compatible with VESA mount and a height-adjustable stand (HAS).
Seoggi Kim, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “All curves are not created equal. Samsung’s SE790C offers an industry-leading and award-winning curvature for a truly immersive, comfortable and differentiating viewing experience. Combined with superior picture quality, productivity and entertainment-enhancing technology features, and design sophistication, our latest curved monitor delivers on our brand promise to push the limits of what display solutions and innovative technology can deliver.” The price of the SE790C monitor hasn't been announced by Samsung yet, but we believe that it won't be cheap.
