We recently revealed that Samsung is working on three new phones in its Galaxy A series of smartphones, with the SM-A500 expected to be the first device that gets an official announcement. Our sources told us that the SM-A500 will have a full metal body and also detailed its specs, but the latest info received by SamMobile is suggesting that Samsung is currently making some changes to both the hardware and software. Apparently, newer prototypes of the SM-A500 are sporting a 13-megapixel camera instead of an 8-megapixel camera as reported earlier, and the latest TouchWiz interface as seen on the Galaxy Note 4.

Of course, you won't get some of the features that are exclusive to the Galaxy Note series, but otherwise the entire user interface will look and act the same (with a simpler settings menu that doesn't have a gazillion different options and merges many of them into categories.) We don't have any other new information on the device, but other specs – at least right now – are expected to include a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, the Snapdragon 400 SoC, 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, and a 2,330 mAh battery.

It's not confirmed which version of the device Samsung will use as the final product, but as always, we will keep you apprised of any details that we come across.
