Samsung has not yet released the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Google Play edition Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G) but it looks like it will start the initial roll out very soon, as Samsung has just dropped the kernel source code at its Open Source Release Center. Samsung has a good reputation of releasing kernel source code of its devices on time and sometimes even before releasing the device or making the new software update available to the public.
As the Google Play edition (GT-I9505G) and the international LTE (GT-I9505) Galaxy S4 share the exact same hardware, kernel developers would be able make good use of the fresh new kernel source code on the international LTE variant, as well.
As you can see above, Samsung has stated the version as “MKG”, so we can safely assume that the final firmware will be I9505GUEUCMKG.
