Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus with 3,200 x 1,800 screen launching on August 20 for $1,399

With Apple launching a MacBook Pro Retina and Google launching a similar high-resolution Chromebook Pixel, Samsung jumped in on the trend with the ATIV Book 9 Plus and one upped the MacBook and Chromebook by putting in a 3,200 x 1,800 13.3-inch screen, but up until now we’ve had no clue to when we’ll actually be able to put our hands on one and how much cash we’ll need to shell out for that beautiful screen.

Well, both questions are being answered today thanks to retailer B&H Photo-Video, that has listed the ATIV Book 9 Plus for $1,399 with an August 20th launch date. For that mighty price, you’ll get the aforementioned screen, 1.6GHz Haswell Core i5-4200U dual-core CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD storage, Intel HD 4400 graphics, and Windows 8. By forking out extra cash, you’ll be able to upgrade to more RAM, bigger SSD, and a Core i7 processor.

Anyone getting this beauty when it becomes available?

Where/when can I get the upgraded model with the bigger ssd and core i7? I don’t see that option on the Samsung website.

Why? It will be standard in 2-3 years anyway. We can’t utilize 4K video either let alone an even higher standard.
