A third of Galaxy S5 upgraders came from an iPhone

Reports about the Galaxy S5 doing extremely well in its initial launch have been coming in thick and fast over the last few days, and now, a report from The Telegraph has revealed that existing iPhone owners could be a considerable force behind the high Galaxy S5 adoption rate. According to the report, which quotes data from CompareMyMobile, 38 percent of the users upgrading to a Galaxy S5 were coming from an iPhone. Most of these upgraded from the older iPhone 4s, but Samsung should still be pretty happy about the fact that these consumers decided to opt for its flagship instead of upgrading to the newest device in Apple’s lineup.

After the iPhone 4s, the Galaxy S III was the next most traded device, which isn’t the least bit surprising since most S III owners would have been at the end of their two-year contracts, and because the Galaxy S5 is a much bigger upgrade over the third-generation Galaxy S model than it is over the Galaxy S4. Following in third place were owners of the iPhone 5s, who also saw merit in upgrading to the latest and greatest from Samsung, offering yet another indication of the fact that the S5 could be on its way to becoming the most successful handset from the Korean manufacturer yet.

What’s up with not mentioning how many people contributed to this survey?

38 percent of the people could be 3 out a total of 8, and 2 from them could’ve been upgrading from an iPhone 4S.
Without these figures this survey is utterly useless. I’m not saying the survey is useless, but without information about how many people were questioned, it is.

Oh you must be a deluded Apple fan. Who just can’t believe any loyal Appleholic could ever like having smartphones that are more durable, more memory ram, faster processors, largest screens, better cameras, true pervasive multitasking, drag n drop App to App, easy file sharing, heart rate monitor, better fingerprint sensor with PayPal Secure payments and online password-less Logins online! ……none of which iPhones will ever have!!!

Because Apple is just plain too CHEAP and chintzy on the R&D Spending to innovate for a better future! Apple is all about here’s what we’re selling. Don’t like it? …..we don’t care, because our nose is stuck so far up our own *** we can’t smell our own stinking Ignorance and Arrogance of our own customers!

btw…. you can bet Apple Inc is paying attention and we aren’t hearing any denials coming out of them. So logically that means they can’t dispute it. Otherwise they’d be all over this trying to refute it. But they’ll just let loyal iDiots like you cry outrage over these numbers instead! It’s a very Applewellian tactic. Send out your iShills and iDiots to cry and denounce Samsung as not playing fair. You…. “How dare they steal customers from Apple so blatantly”…. will be what you’re saying next! ;-P

Idiot.. I’ve got a Galaxy S5 in my pocket.
I’m just saying these percentages are worth nothing without knowing how many people have been questioned.
