Samsung may have skipped one Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone following the first two models, but the company isn’t doing that again. For 2025, Samsung launched the Galaxy S25 FE. It is the fifth Galaxy S25 model, following the addition of the razor-thin Galaxy S25 Edge.
The Galaxy S25 FE follows Samsung’s 2025 design direction of making its flagships thinner. The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are all slimmer than their predecessors, and the S25 FE gets the same treatment.
While nothing comes close to the slimness of the Galaxy S25 Edge, the S25 FE carries forward Samsung’s goal of making every flagship more compact. It is 7.4mm thick, down from the S24 FE's 8mm profile, and weighs 190g.
Samsung has also enhanced the Armor Aluminum frame for better durability, and the front and back are protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus+. The IP68 water and dust resistance has carried over unchanged from previous models.
The phone features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1900 nits (same as the S24 FE and 700 nits lower than the other S25 models). The bezels are slimmer, with the display taking up 90.19% of the front side.
The Galaxy S25 FE makes some meaningful upgrades over its predecessor. It is powered by the same 4nm Exynos 2400 processor that debuted on the Galaxy S24 series, paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
Battery capacity has been increased to 4,900 mAh, and charging is faster than before. The S25 FE supports 45W wired charging, capable of reaching up to 65% in just 30 minutes. The charger is a separate purchase.
The rear camera setup remains unchanged from the Galaxy S24 FE, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (up to 30x digital). The selfie camera, however, has been upgraded from 10MP to 12MP, bringing it on par with the other Galaxy S25 models.
Other hardware features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
The Galaxy S25 FE runs Android 16 with One UI 8 out of the box. Like Samsung’s other 2025 flagships, it supports Galaxy AI features such as Audio Eraser and Now Brief. It also supports Google Gemini, including Gemini Live.
Samsung promises seven major OS upgrades, meaning the S25 FE will eventually reach Android 23 and One UI 15, provided the numbering convention remains the same. The other Galaxy S25 models are eligible for up to Android 22 and One UI 14 as they launched with One UI 7 out of the box.
The Galaxy S25 FE went on sale globally on September 4. Pricing starts at $649 in the USA for the 128GB configuration, keeping it in line with the S24 FE’s launch price. In the UK and Europe, it launched at £649 and €749 respectively.
The 256/512GB variants launched for £699/809 and €819/929 respectively. In the US, the 256GB variant costs $709.9. The phone's color options include Icyblue, Jetblack, Navy, and White colors.
