I think Samsung made the right call, but you might feel differently.

Samsung's new Galaxy Book 6 laptop series looks amazing. I couldn't be happier that Samsung finally decided to adopt a centered touchpad layout and a tenkeyless keyboard even for the 16-inch varieties.
However, I suspect that not everyone is happy with the company's latest laptop models. Particularly, if you are a fan of 2-in-1 laptops, the Galaxy Book 6 series, as it stands right now, has missed the target.
At CES 2026, Samsung unveiled three new laptops: the Galaxy Book 6, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra. This time, there was no Book 360 variant, Pro or otherwise.
Personally, I'm not a fan of 2-in-1 laptops, so I don't think this is a big loss. I owned a convertible — from a different brand — many years ago when they were in vogue, and one was enough for me. The device didn't excel either as a tablet or as a laptop, and I found the experience too compromised.
Hybrid devices are always interesting, particularly in the foldable phone segment. And the recent Galaxy Z TriFold might be the most interesting of them all.
But creating a hybrid that offers the best of both worlds isn't easy. Samsung appears to have come close with its previous 360 laptops, but maybe it wasn't close enough.
2-in-1 Windows laptops are typically pricier than their standard counterparts. They may even lack some features. They're also thicker and heavier. And, to be blunt, the Windows tablet experience is inferior to Android and iOS.
Samsung's Galaxy Book laptops have often had a staggered launch. So even though the company made no mention of a 360 model at CES 2026, it's not hard to imagine the company launching a 2-in-1 variant later in the year.
Let's also not forget that there was no Galaxy Book 5 Ultra last year, yet the Ultra brand made a return at CES 2026. Similarly, a Galaxy Book 360 could eventually make a comeback, even if Samsung might not have any plans for a Book 6 360 / Book 6 Pro 360 this year.
Nothing is set in stone, except for the fact that the 360 model is missing in action as of this writing. But if you are a huge fan of 2-in-1 laptops, you probably shouldn't lose hope yet.
Personally, I think it would be worth ditching the 360 models entirely if it means that Samsung can make better standard Book laptops. But I am not a 2-in-1 fan in general, and your relationship with the hybrid design may be different.
If Samsung has any plans to keep the 360 series alive, we'll be the first to let you know as soon as more information surfaces.
