Don't fall for the cheaper FE, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is worth every extra dollar

Samsung's first Fan Edition Flip phone, in our opinion, is a bit of a flop. Not because it's inherently a bad phone, because it isn't. However, Samsung has arguably priced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE too high, especially since it is an inferior version of the Flip 6 from 2024. But what about the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7? Is it worth the extra $200?

I believe so. Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7 guarantees better value. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 offers so much more for the extra $200 that it makes me wonder if Samsung strategically priced the FE model higher than it should have as a way to bolster the standard Flip 7's perceived value by contrast.

That's another matter altogether, but for now, allow me to justify my position regarding these two phones and my belief that the Z Flip 7 is worth it.

Below I compiled a list of reasons why I think you're better off spending the extra $200 / €200 / £200 on the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7 if you're considering joining the foldable flip phone craze this year.

So, back to the original question. Is the Galaxy Z Flip 7 worth the extra $200 / €200 / £200? Consider this: A 2x storage upgrade and more RAM for most Galaxy phones usually cost an extra ~$100. That leaves you with roughly $100 to cover all the other upgrades and extra features. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is way better for not that much more money.

Now, you could argue that both phones are too expensive to begin with and that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 seems like a greater value phone only because the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is grossly overpriced.

However, you should also consider the fact that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is no more expensive than the Z Flip 6 was at launch. So, while you could say that Samsung priced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE too high, it's hard to make the same argument when it comes to the standard Flip 7.
