Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE today, its first “Fan Edition” branded foldable, which is priced $200 less than the new Galaxy Z Flip 7 and positioned as a more affordable entry point into Samsung's foldable Galaxy.
Customers in the United States typically purchase their phones from carriers on payment plans. While both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are being sold by carriers as expected, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is not.
Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T have all confirmed their pre-order deals and pricing details for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Their announcements didn't include the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE and neither do their online stores have any listings for the device.
Samsung's official US online store provides customers with the option to either buy the phone unlocked or on a carrier straight from its website. We've checked the listings, the option is present on the product pages for the two flagship models, but not for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. You can only buy the unlocked version from Samsung.
No carrier versions of the phone are listed on other retailers like Best Buy which is taking pre-orders for both unlocked and carrier versions of the new flagship foldable phones. Evidently, Samsung has decided not to sell the phone through carriers in the US.
So if you're thinking about buying the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, your only option is to fork out the $899 starting price in cash, or use the financing options offered by Samsung or its retail partners.
