Samsung has launched its Galaxy XR headset today. The company's first extended reality headset is priced at $1,799, which while significantly below what Apple charges for the Vision Pro, is still firmly in the expensive domain.

That's why the company is directly offering a financing option for the device at no additional cost, enabling customers in the United States to buy the Galaxy XR for just $75 per month.

12 and 24-month installment plans available

To be clear, the $1,799 price tag gets you the headset only. If you want to buy the controllers, Samsung is selling them separately for $249. There's also a carrying case that costs $249 but you can always chuck the headset in your backpack. Finally, if you were prescription glasses, you'll need lens inserts which start at $99.

The costs can certainly add up, which is why some customers in the US may consider financing options. Samsung is only selling the headset through its online stores and its Samsung Experience Store locations. It's offering financing options through both sale points.

There's a 24-month financing option available through Samsung.com. It simply splits the $1,799 price tag over 24 months, meaning you'll pay $75.01 per month for two years. A shorter 12-month plan is also available but only from Samsung Experience Stores, there's no change in price, you'll pay $150 per month for 12 months.

Given that the stores are only in a handful of locations across the United States, most customers will likely go for the online 24-month option which is readily available. The Galaxy XR has gone on sale today in the United States and South Korea.
