But if you own a Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, or Galaxy S23 Ultra, you may have noticed that things have been quiet on the update front for some time. They have received multiple security updates after One UI 6.1.1, but isn't it high time they got a second major OS upgrade?
When will the 2023 flagship Galaxy S lineup get One UI 7 (Android 15)? Well, in case you missed all the coverage on the subject in recent weeks, that update is currently on track for a February release.
Like every year, Samsung launched a beta program for the latest version of One UI. But, as far as the list of eligible devices is concerned, the company has broken protocol this time around.
The One UI 7 beta program debuted on the Galaxy S24 series in early December 2024 and Samsung has reportedly scrapped plans to allow beta access to owners of other Galaxy smartphones.
That's owing to Samsung's decision to keep One UI 7 in the proverbial oven for a longer-than-usual period. The upcoming Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra will be the first phones to run the stable version of One UI 7, and all existing Galaxy S smartphones are rumored to get it sometime in the second month of 2025.
Samsung hasn't officially provided a timeline for the update's rollout, but we will let you know if, and when, that changes. Stay tuned.
